Purpose: VOS’ Career Services committee assists accounting professionals who are looking for employment opportunities. The committee is a resource for construction firms that are hiring. CFMA members may send resumes to the committee chair for distribution to firms that are hiring. Construction firms that are hiring may request resumes from the committee.
This committee organizes community service projects in which members, co-workers, friends, and family participate to benefit those in need in our local community.
Purpose: The VOS Community Service Committee holds quarterly events in which VoS volunteers donate time and money to serve the community.
Construction Executive of the Year
Planning the CEoY takes place with regular committee meetings.
Purpose: The VoS Construction Executive of the Year Committee holds an annual event to promote CFMA to the leaders of the construction industry and to honor individuals who have made extensive contributions to the construction industry and the community. The annual event highlights the achievements of CFMA as an organization and rewards our exceptional VoS volunteer members.
Purpose: The VoS Education Committee’s mission is furthering the educational opportunities of our chapter members by presenting seminars and conferences with topics relevant to Construction Financial Managers and Associate Partners.
Purpose: The VoS Golf Committee hosts an annual golf tournament. This year marks the 25th annual event. Funds raised from the golf tournament are used to provide scholarships to candidates in hope that they will prove to be an investment in the Arizona field of construction by providing promising financial or construction professionals with some assistance while completing their studies.
The funds raised also are used to promote education within the industry with our members, sponsoring first-time attendees to the CFMA national conference and promoting the CCIFP designation to our members.
Purpose: The VoS Legislative committee monitors potential governmental issues or pending litigation that would affect the construction industry and communicates these potential issues to VoS chapter members. The VoS legislative committee’s goal is to support the chapter’s mission to be essential to the construction industry. Meetings are during the State’s legislative session, usually monthly, from December through May.
Purpose: The VoS Membership Committee promotes membership and involvement in CFMA by and through (1) Identifying and recruiting candidates for membership; (2) Educating the local construction industry on the benefits of membership; and (3) Assisting existing members in becoming active participants in the organization. This committee reviews membership and develops plans to increase and retain members. Meetings are monthly, usually from noon to 1 p.m., on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
Purpose: The VoS Program Committee is responsible for providing the content for the chapter’s monthly lunch meetings. The committee’s goal is providing timely and relevant information to our members on topics directly affecting construction industry financial professionals. This committee meets quarterly.
Purpose: The VoS Salary Survey Committee compiles a detailed Arizona Construction Industry Compensation and Benefits survey. The committee is actively preparing for the 2015 survey.
Purpose: The VoS Scholarship committee‘s purpose is receiving and reviewing applications, then awarding scholarships. It meets twice a year, usually by phone, to review candidate applications and select recipients.
Purpose: VoS’ Succession Planning Committee meets annually to recommend officers and board members
to serve for the following year. They conduct the Annual Meeting in February.
Young Construction Financial Professionals (YCFP)
Purpose: Promoting younger professionals in the construction industry through their introduction to CFMA VoS.
